A 6 foot orange Surface Marker Buoy that is Self Inflatable with a readily available and economic CO2 threaded cartridge.  Our SMB retains all the functionality you would expect on a capable marker. 

• Both oral and bottom inflation remains an option for the diver.  

• Over Pressure Valve equipped

• Tough plastic D ring on top to secure your chem light, etc along with hi-viz reflective tape.

• Built in bungee and hook and loop strap to secure when stowed.  

• Semi open weighted bottom with duck valve

• Stainless Steel D ring on the bottom to secure to you, your reel or spool.

Why CO2?   It is very simple and FAST to deploy.  If you are in situation where time is of the essence (spearfishing etc) simply unfurl the SMB, prep/situate your line on a spool or reel, pull the captive cord down and that is it.  The DSMB will be fully inflated by time it surfaces.

If you choose not to use it on a particular dive, don't! Use one of the other two methods as listed above.

We use an established lever charger that will not 'accidentally' charge (assuming the lever cord is wrapped and the toggle strap is secured to the CO2 cartridge).  The charging pin is NOT under spring pressure when lever is in the seated position - so it is virtually impossible to experience an accidental release.   Once the lever is pulled and in the 45° position, the pin will puncture the cartridge and the spring forces the pin to the open position.

Using the CO2 charging mechanism is not intended as a substitute for a required skill in open water diving but rather offered as means to expedite and facilitate a basic procedure.
